DOWN-TIME - How dreaming help you learn.

I had an odd experience last night.

I was sleeping soundly when a noise half woke me up. And while I was drifting off to sleep again, I noticed that my mind was flicking between all the Spanish I'd been through in the previous few days, like nosing through a filing cabinet to make sure everything's there. A fast half-second of this or that song I've been learning, then a half-second of this or that phrase I'd been over, and another half-second of dialogue from a film or radio show.

I'm fascinated by the workings of the human mind, so I'm very curious about this. I'm guessing it's probably helpful to the learning process. If anyone can tell me more about this, I'd be very grateful.
